I know I don’t have a Sports category, but I’ll put this in politics since he did testify before Congress…
When I heard the Palmeiro failed a drug test, obviously, I was dissappointed. He’s right…it would make absolutely no sense to take steroids at this point in his career. Then when I heard his rebuttal (“I have no idea how steroids got in my body”), I just became flabergasted. It would have been better to just admit that you made a mistake. Honestly, for his sake, I hope he’s lying. If he really has no idea how a banned substance got into his body, I say they should suspend him another 10 days for being a moron! You’re a big league player and a role model for kids…look at what you’re taking before just throwing it down!
1. The steroids obviously have gotten to his head.
2. Anyone caught in violation of drug use should be banned from the sport for a year (no exceptions).
3. Congress should keep out of regulating drug testing.
